Innovation: Intesa Sanpaolo promotes Italian startups in Silicon Valley
Intesa Sanpaolo is accompanying 12 innovative Italian startups to Silicon Valley, offering them an immersion course in the world's most dynamic and competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem: this is the first time that an Italian bank is promoting the international acceleration of Italian startups.
The mission was pursued in collaboration with INNOVIT (Italian Innovation and Culture Hub) and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center.
More specifically, the 12 participating startups - selected under the Up2Stars programme - in San Francisco were able to:
- attend more than 20 training sessions with local universities
- participate in mentoring and networking activities with large American innovative companies
- dive into a “shark tank”, with the guidance of experts to present themselves to potential investors and possible strategic partners
with mutual benefits in knowledge transfer and expansion into new markets.

The initiative is part of Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment to supporting the innovation ecosystem and business competitiveness on the international stage. A commitment in terms of training, visibility and promotion of start-ups that translates into a total economic value of €2.2 million: €25,000 for each start-up accelerated by Up2Stars, rising to €45,000 for the 12 companies that participated in the mission to San Francisco.
The mission to San Francisco is organised with the support of the Italian Innovation Centre set up at INNOVIT, the Italian Hub for Innovation and Culture promoted by the Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Washington and the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco. ITA (Italian Trade Agency) and IIC (Italian Cultural Institute San Francisco) are also essential components of INNOVIT.
The 12 start-ups selected for the Silicon Valley mission
Standing out for the innovative potential of their projects and their adherence to the specific investment objectives of the Silicon Valley system, the 12 start-ups that participated in the mission are: Keplera, 2NDSpace, Novac, PINPOINT, Monitor The Planet, Novalimb, Infinity ID, bitCorp, CityZ, Joule, Oraigo and M2Test.
The start-ups were identified with INNOVIT from among the 80 that participated in the two editions of Up2Stars, Intesa Sanpaolo's programme dedicated to showcasing Italian start-ups operating in strategic sectors for the country's economy such as digital, bio-economy, health, aerospace water, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and mobility.
