2025 World Environment Day
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June, an initiative promoted by the United Nations since 1972.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group contributes to creating opportunities for discussion that promote the culture of change with a view to sustainability, which is why for the seventeenth consecutive year it is promoting the Day both among the Group's people and through the Sustainability section of the institutional website.
Intesa Sanpaolo is aware of the impact that its activities can have in the environmental field, one of the areas of intervention in this regard is the support for the circular economy, which the Group has been pursuing since 2015 and has confirmed with the 2022-2025 Business Plan, making available 8 billion in credit lines dedicated to the Circular Economy over the period of the Plan and renewing the partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and continuing the collaboration with the Circular Economy Lab, a competence center in partnership between the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Cariplo Factory.
Still on the subject of the environment and commitment to the dissemination of the themes, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center together with SRM - the Research Center connected to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, have published the report "Towards the Circular Blue Economy", which deals with the following topics:
- the transition from the Blue Economy to the Circular Blue Economy
- the economic, environmental and regulatory scenario
- circularity principles and solutions applied to the Blue Economy value chain.
The banks of the International Banks Division of the Group are also participating in the initiative. Here are some examples:
• PBZ on the occasion publishes on the company intranet a quiz for colleagues with the aim of raising their awareness on environmental issues
• ISP Slovenia organizes a webinar on soil care in collaboration with a horticulture expert for all colleagues
• ISP Albania organized an event on June 2nd open to colleagues and their children to talk about the environment with drawing workshops on the theme and free thermal water bottles.
Through conscious consumption choices, each of us can make small gestures to contribute to the protection of ecosystems and preserve nature for global well-being.
